The Story of Brewman
By Brewman and Hoppy

Hi, I'm Lyle Wigglebutt otherwise known as Brewman. It all started when I was a janitor... Custodial Engineer in training, at the Mt. Maltey Nuclear Power Plant. I was storing some home brew in a closet next to the reactor core. When suddenly there was another accident with the core. Trapped in the closet I suffered radiation and high temperatures as the reactor core over heated. Luckily the brew that I was storing exploded and doused me with good home brew. All of my cells in my body went through a weird radioactive transformation. I was trapped there for 12 days under a huge radioactive heap. Then a young college student named Edwin V. Body found me... well, fell over me. I nursed his wounds and took him to the hospital. Upon my arrival to Ed's extravagant private room I discovered that Ed was loaded and he had been drinking too. He lived at the hospital and had been a medical student for the past 15 years. When he regained consciousness, he discovered that he had partial amnesia. At the time I had an urge to eliminate bad brew from the face of the earth forever! After leaving the bathroom (for what seemed to be an eternity), I vowed that I would fight the enemies of good beer and call myself Brewman. Edwin was devoid of any past memories and could only remember various home brewing techniques. I convinced him to take up the campaign against bad beer and he reluctantly became my side kick, Hoppy. We are sworn to protect the metropolis of Mashville from bad brew. We've fought bad guys like Dr. Infecto, Sour Mash Man, and Count Manlick for the past few years. Hoppy is a "gagitier" and is often injured for no apparent reason.

The History of Brewman on the
Home Brew America Show

Back when Stan Richards was managing a home brew store chain, a supply company mailed a poster with a "Brew Hero" on it. Rob Fortini (the Orlando manager) and he dreamed up this elaborate home brew hero as the stereo-type super home brewer. Rob Fortini named the super brewer "Brewman". Many adventures were dreamed up, based on real life situations taken to the extreme. Later while in the first season of The Home Brew Today show Bob Miller joined this character with a voice. Soon after that the first episode was recorded at the WGTO studios for air on the show. The response form the listeners was overwhelming. The first "Adventures of Brewman" did not feature his side kick Hoppy until the second season. The "Low Budget Adventures of Brewman" was a regular vignette on the second season and from then on. Bob Miller is the writer and the voice of Brewman, Announcer, and all villains like Infecto. Stan Richards is the voice of Hoppy, the accident prone high tech -brew side kick. Together Brewman and Hoppy fight the villains of beer, and in their spare time drive back and forth to and from the hospital. We hope to entertain the brewing public and sneak in a message about home brewing in the process. Over 100 episodes have been broadcast and the "dynamic brew 'o" is in the process of compiling a comic book of their episodes. Keep looking in on the giftshop for more Brewman trinkets.
